AI replies that come out the way you asked
Written by the team that makes Dotok. Free options come first.
In short
- Instruction = what to say + tone + what to leave out. Those three are enough.
- Dates, numbers and promises — write them exactly in the instruction.
- Check the read-back in your language, and use [Again] or [Edit] if it’s off.

When an AI reply comes out wrong, the instruction was usually vague. Put in three things.
Instruction = what to say + tone + what to leave out
| Put in | Example |
|---|---|
| What to say | “say I’ll send the quote by Friday morning” |
| Tone | “politely” · “casual, like a friend” · “short” |
| What to leave out | “don’t mention the price” · “no emoji” |
Add to the instruction and the reply changes
If you don’t like it
- [Again] — writes a new draft from the same instruction
- [Edit] — fix the draft yourself
- Add a word to the instruction — “shorter”, “more casual”
AI can be wrong. For amounts, dates and promises, always check the read-back.
If you’d rather keep instructions short, see handing it over in one line.
FAQ
- Do I have to write the instruction in their language?
- No. Write it in your own language and the reply comes out in theirs.
- How is the reply language chosen?
- By default it is the language the other person wrote in. You can change it in Settings.
