Dotok

An AI chat helper that floats over WhatsApp and KakaoTalk

Reads what they sent.
Writes what you’d say.

The two places a chat in another language gets stuck: reading and replying. Tap a message to see it in English. Type what you want to say, and the reply comes out in their language, written to fit the conversation.

In Korea this is a warm hello, not a question about lunch. “Yes, you?” is a fine answer.

Write for me

When you don’t know what to say, it writes the reply.

Opening a chat, closing one, answering “how have you been?” in a language you’re still learning. Say what you want to say in English, and Dotok writes a reply that fits the conversation, in their language.

Just say what you want

“say I’m good, ask about their week” is enough. Dotok matches what the chat is about and how casual it is.

Greetings that fit their culture

Ask for “a friendly hello” and it writes what a Korean or Japanese friend would actually say, not a word-for-word “how are you”.

See it in English before you send

Every draft comes with an English read-back. Not right? Ask again, or edit. When you write in your own words, it shows you how that reads to them too.

You always send. Dotok only places the sentence you tap [Insert] into the input field.

Things you can ask for

say hi, ask how they’ve beenwrap up politelythank them, say let’s meet againdecline but stay friendlygreet them the Korean way

In context

The same words mean different things after different messages.

Dotok reads up to six earlier messages along with the one it translates. It knows who was talking about what, so the result differs from a translation of the sentence alone.

With the conversationNo thanks, I’m fine.

Examples are staged. Real translations depend on the conversation.

One line of meaning

When the translation is right but the meaning isn’t, you get one more line.

Some phrases read differently in their own culture — “we’ll give it positive consideration” is usually a polite no. Only those get a one-line note. Most messages come back as translation alone.

  • Notes are written in your language.
  • Tap a message to switch between the original and your translation languages (up to 4).
  • When you open the panel, the latest message you received is translated first.
We will give it positive consideration.
In Japanese business this set phrase usually means a polite no, not a yes. Don’t count on it.
